Who We Are
Dr. DuBois founded The Social Design Group to provide evidence-based, innovative human resource management practices to organizations and to further work in embedding sustainability within organizations and communities. The Social Design Group provides consulting and training to assist firms in utilizing sustainability as a core business strategy, with a focus on aligning HR strategies and practices with the vision, mission, and business model of the organization. Additionally, he leads efforts in developing holistic, strategic plans for employee health; and performs management assessments and development.
For 30 years, he has applied social and cognitive science to advancing the performance and health of people in the workplace. For a decade, he conducted applied research on identifying and accelerating the development of job expertise with the US military. He adapted and implemented innovative methods for engaging the workforce in the development of strategic plans for health and well-being. He designed unique training strategies and processes for embedding sustainability within organizations and using it deeply engage the workforce and stimulate innovation.
He has founded two businesses and two nonprofits. He received his PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. He is married and enjoys sports, hiking, and politics, and serving on boards of civic, educational, and cultural organizations.
